Tommy Orange at Storyfort 2019

Join us at Storyfort 2019 for two special events with Tommy Orange

Treasure Valley Reads brings Tommy Orange, New York Times bestselling author, to Storyfort to read from his novel There There, talk about his work, and sign copies of his book at the Egyptian Theatre on Saturday, March 23, 7-8:30pm. For prime seats, you will want to reserve your seat on Eventbrite with a suggested donation of $10. Otherwise, this event is free and open to the public. Jason Pretty Boy, a Boise-based Lakota Sioux tribal member and Native American Coalition of Boise member, will be the moderator of the event. Rediscovered Books will have copies of There There available for sale in the lobby. There will also be a no host bar provided by The Mode Lounge.

Mix and mingle with Tommy before the show at a reception at MING Studios 5:30-6:30pm. Food and drink will be available. This event is free and open to the public.

Tommy Orange is the author of the New York Times bestselling novel There There, a multi-generational, relentlessly paced story about a side of America few of us have ever seen: the lives of urban Native Americans. Orange is a recent graduate from the MFA program at the Institute of American Indian Arts. He is a 2014 MacDowell Fellow, and a 2016 Writing by Writers Fellow. He is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma. He was born and raised in Oakland, California, and currently lives in Angel’s Camp, California.

Tommy Orange is presented in partnership with Treasure Valley Reads.
