DACA-mented Stories: DREAM-ers in Idaho
A panel of DACA and DREAMers take the stage to tell stories of the lives and issues at stake. This moderated narrative discussion aims to enlighten, inform, and inspire. The speakers, in collaboration with PODER (Protecting Our Dreamers and Empowering Resilience), a local organization that advocates, supports, and works towards (clean) immigration reform, will express their emotional experiences as DACA recipients through narratives that show their strength and resilience, their hopes and fears, their honest humanity.
Country to Country: The Whole Refugee Story
A collection of refugee storytellers, advocates, policy insiders, employers will deliver the entire spectrum of the refugee experience in America. This moderated storytelling event will present the heartfelt narratives of refugees, and of those closest to the experience of the refugee, telling deep-down stories about why and how they do what they do.
Thank You For Your Stories: Veteran Narratives
Five veterans with experience from Vietnam, the Balkan Crisis, and post-9/11 Iraq and Afghanistan will be telling their stories, and in moderated conversation about what their military lives mean to them now.
A broad ranging discussion and examination of the political narratives of our state, country, and world, including a live onstage taping of Idaho Reports. Idaho Reports is the longest running public policy show in the west, covering the Idaho Legislature, state government, and regional issues for more than 40 years. Host and Storyfort moderator, Melissa Davlin, along with producer Seth Ogilvie travel the state to report on issues affecting everyday Idahoans, using produced segments, in-depth interviews and panel discussions to explain how decisions made in Boise and D.C. impact you. Melissa and Seth will be rounding up a collective of legislators and policy makers to take the stage at Storyfort, along with Melissa!
