Spaceface is led by Jake Ingalls who also plays guitar and synthesizer in The Flaming Lips. The experience reflects that influence, as the band works to bring the concert grade experience to a club level. The group’s music offers a refreshing approach on psychedelic rock, with transparent ’70s references but also strikingly modern elements that make this trick something to behold. Their 2017 record, “Sun Kids” was described by KEXP as hazy, psychedelic pop music, elegantly composed.
2019 saw the release of their latest work, “Panormic View” The song bounces along on a funky ’70s groove with light psychedelic effects that never seem to overpower the strong melodies. “You had a panoramic view,” the lyrics begin, “Million dollar car to match your room.” The song contains the kind of trippy grooves that Flaming Lips fans will flock to, but it’s also user-friendly enough for mainstream pop audiences. With a new record set for a Spring 2020 release and a fresh new line up, Spaceface is ready to roll through your town and dazzle with danceable hooks and a wondrous light show.
