New to Cybersecurity? Well, So Am I.

Being new to cybersecurity can be confusing and a little intimidating. What is it cybersecurity professionals do? Why do they claim to dislike BKMs (Best Known Methods)--a lot? Are they being pompous and evasive, or is there a deeper lesson to be learned? Why do they say, "If a nation state wants to get you, they'll get you?" If this is true, how? If this is true, then isn't cybersecurity a hopeless endeavor? And, finally, what is this new system thinking thing cybersecurity programs are talking a lot about? Having only worked in cybersecurity for the last 6 months as the Cyberdome's Lead Engineer, I hope to use my own newbie status to make cybersecurity more relatable to individuals who are either new or just trying to decide if they should invest more time into cybersecurity.
