Low Hums are a musical collective founded and fronted by Jonas Haskins and a cast of many talented friends. Hailing from Seattle, Low Hums play garage rock and roll with a third eye from the psychedelic perspective. The music is organic, and “west coast” in flavor, expanding on typical up and down rhythms that most run-of-the-mill garage bands stick to but also side to side. 'Psychedelic, swagger and glam!’ is how Paste Magazine described it. Low Hums have released 5 full length LP’s to date, the latest two on Germany’s Kozmik Artifactz who gorgeously released 2019’s “Zzyzx” and also 2018’s “Night Magic Wine”. Xxyzx draws more inspiration from the American psych movement than perhaps the previous nods to British psych; this is more of a desert singed take on the style, informed by garage rock and the likes of Lou Reed. “Ghost Babe” the third track of the album, drives homes those garage rock influences with Low Hums’ omitting the esoteric nature of their previous work and instead of going, ahem, “balls to the wall” in what feels like a fitting homage to Stooge’s era protopunk. backseatmafia.com Low Hums are a psychedelic rock outfit out of Seattle, dropping their fifth full-length album. It's an eleven-track journey, that weaves through space and time. 'Zzyzx' will take the listener for a ride through the California desert and beyond, drawing influences from '60s psychedelia, acid rock, krautrock and '60s era garage bands, also early Stones, Beatles and Dead Moon. - clearspot Seattle-based groove-rockers Low Hums released their LP ‘Zzyzx’, the perfect album for the intergalactic alien in all of us. - alternativesoundnet A sixth full length LP is in the works for a new release with Kozmik Artifactz and the band is looking and booking to hit the road in 2022.
