Katie Miller served in an indigenous village in the highlands of Guatemala from 2008-2010. Most of her projects were in Agriculture with a focus on Food Security. A lot of her time was spent helping women cultivate family gardens, introducing small scale agricultural projects, or teaching about nutrition. Katie met her husband in Guatemala, a fellow PCV, whom she married just after returning to the States. Katie and her husband then obtained their teaching licenses and taught at an International School in Kazakhstan. After two years of teaching, they moved to Boise where Katie worked with the Guatemala based Ag organization Semilla Nueva before having children. Now Katie has two small boys who keep her busy. When she has a few spare minutes Katie works as a ceramic artist in her home studio.
