Death Parade

Portland, OR

Death Parade is songwriter Laura Hopkins, (formerly of Blackwater Holylight and Laura Palmer’s Death Parade) Eirinn Lou Riggs (synth and guitar), Danny Metcalfe (bass), and Robert Grubaugh (drums). Their album “IT WAS WORTH IT TO LOVE, though it hurt so bad” releasing March 14th, 2022 with Halfshell Records, dives into heartache and grief as regular as one’s day-to-day, with songs of longing and deep loss. Stepping through the events of 2020: the fires, the war on white supremacy, isolation, grief, and the before times; back when love was abundant and life seemed grand, masking the darkness behind closed doors and late nights. Fluttering from finger-picked guitar to doomy fuzz and dreamy synth, Death Parade guides you from one song to the next, reflecting Portland, Oregon’s environment of roses, rain and violence—weaving harmonies together for a melancholic mixture of ache and celebratory joy.
