Coral Grief is the Seattle-based dream pop project of Lena Farr-Morrissey and Sam Fason. Their debut self-titled EP was written and recorded by the band at home from March - August 2020, and released on Seattle-based tape label Den Tapes in May 2021. The EP has received considerable praise, from being featured on the Bandcamp home page, to being regularly played on KEXP. With the return of reopening of Seattle venues in July 2021, Coral Grief has established itself as one of the most exciting up and coming acts in the northwest, playing iconic venues like the Tractor Tavern and opening for acclaimed local bands Versing and somesurprises. Coral Grief's music generates reverie with intense focus, built upon krautrock and synth pop undertones. While the songs are not confined to quarantine, they are a product of its themes. Ambient guitars and weaving synths create the space for Farr-Morrissey’s melodies and Fason’s guitar work to flourish, with intricate bass lines propelling each song forward.
