I’m a singer-songwriter / multi-instrumentalist from the Pacific Northwest and
I’ve been playing live music and writing songs for 25 years now. I’ve lived and seeped up the musical cultures of: St, Louis, Seattle, Portland, Oregon, Boston and Vermont. I currently currently live in Boise, Idaho with my awesome family. I play solo shows in and around Boise and the Pacific Northwest and I also co-front a band called Curtis/Sutton & the Scavengers.
I describe my musical genre as folk-a-billy because I play stripped down acoustic folk and country-blues but I also play electrified rockabilly, garage and surf. My band Curtis/Sutton and the Scavengers have shared the bill with such acts as: Eilen Jewell, Hillfolk Noir, Benyaro,The Young Dubliners, Jeff Crosby, The Mastersons, DBUK, Pastor Pat White, Jonathan Warren and the Billy Goats, The Country Lips, Bart Budwig,The Water Liars and several other artists in and around or passing through the Pacific Northwest. As a solo performer, I’ve opened for: Merl Saunders, Leftover Salmon, John Cruz, Hillfolk Noir, Zoe Muth and the Lost High Rollers and many other acts I can’t remember off the top of my head. I was also featured as a solo performer on Garrison Keillor’s, A Prairie Home Companion, way back in October of 2006.
Nanobot Rock Reviews recently premiered my video single: “Slick Willie (The Ballad of Willie Sutton)”. I’m looking forward to the release of the full album entitled “Primitive Songs for Modern Times” set for release in June 19′. The album will be produced by Travis Ward of Hillfolk Noir and features many talented Boise musicians that I’m honored to have played with.
