MICRODOSE is Treefort Music Fest’s off-season quarterly screening series, hosted by Filmfort and showing exclusively at The Flicks. Watch cutting-edge documentaries, mind-bending narratives and other cross-genre films, often with directors in attendance to share a peek from behind-the-scenes. The series will screen ‘First Thursday’ of May, August and November in 2022. The MICRODOSE series features short bursts of cinema that will take your brain to another plane.

May 5 @ 7:00PM – Greener Grass

A 2019 American surreal dark comedy film, written and directed by Jocelyn DeBoer and Dawn Luebbe in their feature directorial debuts. The film follows soccer mums Jill and Lisa who compete for approval and acceptance in a bizarre suburbia while their kids battle it out on the playing field. Virtual Q+A to follow with lead producer Natalie Metzger and Director TBA. NR 90 Min

August 4 @ 7:00PM – 60 minute shorts block + Q&A with one of the directors.

Take your mind on summer vacation as we join a card shark in a tense negotiation at a pizza shop, a young girl’s determination to lasso her first crush, three friends trying to have a summer of chill, animations that explore a nail salon workplace and one woman’s private bathtub experience, among other wild journeys.

Julia (Maika Monroe) joins her husband (Karl Glusman) when he relocates to his family’s native Romania for a new job. Having recently abandoned her acting career, she finds herself frequently alone and unoccupied. One night, people watching from her picture window, she spots a vague figure in an adjacent building, who seems to be looking back at her. Soon after, while alone at a local movie theater, Julia’s sense of being watched intensifies, and she becomes certain she’s being followed — could it be the same unknown neighbor? Meanwhile, a serial killer known as The Spider stalks the city.
