Writers often encounter an intersection between exposing the truth and the risk of betraying—ourselves, or others. Within this space lives the complexities of good storytelling, and the knowledge that truth, as commonly considered, does not actually exist. Can we write without betraying ourselves, our art, or another? Five panelists—novelists, essayists, poets, and editors—join in the conversation, offering their views on the finer points of telling their “truth” with integrity.
