Dragfort 2020

It’s official! Dragfort is for reals a fort.

Fort of Drag was so successful last year we decided to put a ring on it. Dragfort is a celebration of your best, most authentic self. It’s more than just drag, kikis, and queens (though it’s definitely about that), it’s about creating a safe space for everyone to express themselves.

Dragfort will welcome headliner AJA, genderqueer artist and rapper to perform at the Dragfort Extravanganza, and headliners Brandon Harrison, founder and father of the Kiki House of Flora in Portland, OR, and Daniel Giron, father of the Kiki House of Ada in Portland, OR to host the Dragfort Kiki Ball and lead workshops and talks on ballroom culture and fundamentals.

There will be DJ performances by Bodie, Not That Jennifer, and Maksym.

Dragfort 2020 will happen every day of Treefort (March 25-29) and is open to anyone with a Treefort Pass. All events at The Balcony are 21+.

Celebrate LGBTQ+ culture at Dragfort 2020:

DRAGFORT EXTRAVAGANZA

FEATURING AJA

Dragfort Extravaganza is an evening of Boise’s best drag queens and kings slaying the stage and bringing you amazing live and lip sync performances hosted by Boise’s blond bombshell Minerva Jayne and headlined by Aja, from Season 9 of Rupaul’s Drag Race and Season 3 of Drag Race All Stars.

Aja (pronouns: they/them) is a Bedstuy, Brooklyn born-and-raised rapper whose “Nicki Minaj-level wordplay” (Rolling Stone) and vicious Aow continues to break barriers within the masc-dominated world of hip-hop as a genderqueer Black and Arab artist who’s unapologetically authentic with their craft. Known for their “flawless execution” (Vibe Magazine) Aja has amassed a global fanbase following the 2018 release of their first EP, In My Feelings, and breakout on RuPaul’s Drag Race.

DRAGFORT KIKI BALL

FEATURING BRANDON HARRISON & DANIEL GIRÓN

Dragfort is bringing the ballroom community to both Treefort and Boise again this year. Connecting with the history of the ballroom scene that has long been established by queer people of color for decades, Dragfort opens it up to ALL WALKS to strut their stuff down the runway, serve face, and vogue the house down. The Dragfort Kiki Ball is open to the public and categories will be announced soon!

Brandon Harrison aka “Father Flora” is the father and founder of the House of Flora, a kiki house based in Portland, OR with chapters in Salt Lake City, UT and Denver, CO.

Daniel Girón is the father of the House of Ada and an event coordinator for some of the biggest ballroom-related events in Oregon like PDX BALL as well as creating & hosting his own events, such as Monday Kiki Balls and Panocha.

DRAG BRUNCH

Denimm Cain brings a taste of 90’s nostalgia, a comedic tongue, and a drive to further the Queer community here in Boise. She’s the hint of memory you get whenever TLC plays on the radio, she’s the rollerblades on summer pavement, she’s the pink power ranger, a local party clown; she’s Denimm Cain.
