Day 5 of Treefort 2019

Treefort 2019 has been one for the books.

We grooved with Joshy Soul, partied with Rubblebucket, rocked out with American Football, and bounced with Sudan Archives. Today is the last day! We’ve danced down the streets of downtown Boise all week, but we got one more day in us. Let’s go out with a bang!

Don’t forget to check out this year’s survival guide for all the info on what to bring, how to get around, and what to eat. Pick up your Treefort Pass and some Treefort 8 souvenirs at Main Stage— everything is in small quantities so snag it up now, while you can! Need help during the fest? Before we dive into today’s festivities, let’s relive yesterday thanks to our amazing Treefort film crew:

MUSIC

So many great acts at Main Stage* today! Local singer-songwriter Nick Delffs gets the tunes going at 1pm. Listen to the the twang of country crooners Sera Cahoone and band then walk the line between vulnerable and menacing with Sarah Shook & the Disarmers. If you didn’t get enough of Rubblebucket or Sudan Archives last night, they will both be playing another set before Toro Y Moi puts on an epic closing show.

Get your last psychedelic fix at El Korah Shrine* with eclectic funk rockers Ava Luna, siamese jazzcats Mattson 2, and experimental pop arsonists Black Moth Super Rainbow.

The party never stops at Neurolux thanks to cumbia healers Sávila, local dance punk trio The French Tips, synth-pop sisters TEEN, and a DJ set from Rituals of Mine.

Linen Building* has a stacked lineup featuring new wave pop group Eyelids, indie babes The Ophelias, soulful noise pop band Bells Atlas, local indie group Up is the Down is the, and soul/R&B crew Moorea Masa & The Mood.

Rock your way out of Treefort 2019 at The Olympic with exuberant garage rock duo SLANG, lo-fi rockers Black Belt Eagle Scout, indie rock artists ORUÃ, Portland darlings Y La Bamba, and hometown homies Built to Spill.

Boise All-ages Movement Project* (BAMP) ends on a strong note with one-self psych rock band Clarke and the Himselfs, Italian psych band Plastic Man, the otherworldly & theatrical Scott Yoder, and the high-energy electro-punks Terror Pigeon.

208 ensemble are proud to introduce Avant-Garden at Boise Contemporary Theater*, their flagship project designed to commission chamber music from emerging composers and cultivate a collaborative environment for the performance of contemporary art. The lineup features 208 ensemble, Nick Zoulek, Project Flux, and Paper Gates.

There’s more to love on day five of Treefort 2018 at Pengilly’s Saloon, PreFunk Beer Bar, Fatty’s, Tom Grainey’s, and Grainey’s Basement!

ART

TREEFORT GALLERY

Treefort Gallery is free and open to the public. The gallery is open 1pm-4pm at The Owyhee*.

Ballet Idaho will perform an excerpt from ‘The Monster and the Gift’ by Daniel Ojeda in the gallery at 2pm and 3pm.

THE FORT OF DRAG

Get a chance to see the Boise’s Next Drag Superstar Season 3 contestants re-do and re-image the best of the best of their Season 3 performances, featuring Farrah Moan with your host Denimm Cain, 7pm at The Balcony (21+)!

PERFORMANCE ART

In collaboration with 208 ensemble, Project Flux‘s ‘Hello My Name Is:’ will examine what it means to revive past works. Catch this amazing performance at 5pm at Boise Contemporary Theater*.

 

STORYFORT

Relax in the first floor cafe at The Owyhee* for your last day of Storyfort 2019. Recover from your amazing Treefort weekend with mimosas, bloody marys, and some amazing poetry by Daphne Stanford, CL Young, Ashley Toliver, Benjamin Schmitt, Kerri Webster, Sarah Manguso, Ameerah Bader and Lyd Havens at noon. The winners of the Microfiction Contest will read their work at 2pm.

Artists Linqua Franqa, Camille Acker, and Leta Harris Neustaedter will talk about activism, race, feminism, and art in America at 3pm, and then gun violence survivors will be coming together again at Storyfort to share their stories and original works at 4pm.

There’ll be a Couch Surfer Series featuring Migration Theory at Radioland Stage* at 2:30pm!

 

YOGAFORT

Restore your soul at Yogafort 2019 at JUMP*! At 10am, tap into that innate wisdom that lies at the core of your heart through thoughtful Vinyasa movements and a playful loving vibe with teacher Mikayla Latta and musician Rob Riccardo. Then, feel like a yogi rockstar as local favorites The Green Zoo provide a soundtrack filled with rock songs for a one-of-a-kind, mind melting, heart opening class with teacher Gordon Ogden.

In collaboration with Storyfort, teacher Kimberly Azzarito and musician Sheela Bringi and band will weave the beloved myths, mudras, and mantras into this creative yet powerful yoga practice using The Hero’s Journey as a guide at 12:40pm. Join your friends for a sweet end to a magical Yogafort at 2pm with teachers Corrine Hathaway and Rainbow Eric and musicians Masood Ali Khan and ensemble.

Come one, come all to the Annual Treefort Dance Battle at the Radioland Stage* at 1pm!

 

KIDFORT

The kids got another full day of fun activities at Kidfort 2019! Add your own details to a Kidfort public art installation, build your own fort, color your own Kidfort t-shirt, and check out jump rope team Summerwind Skippers in the Kidfort Lot*.

Start the day with family yoga led by Sally Roberts at 11am at The Nest* — bring your own mat and kick off your day feeling great (in collaboration with Yogafort)! Then, bring your best moves to the Kidfort Dance Battle (in collaboration with Yogafort) at noon. The afternoon will be filled with storytime workshops for Catalina & the King’s Wall and It’s Tough Being a Werewolf (in collaboration with Storyfort), a performance workshop with Idaho Shakespeare Festival, and performances by Boise Rock School bands.

Returning from Portland with a new show, Jack and the Dragon is sure to bring smiles & giggles at 11am at El Korah Shrine*! Tickets are $8.

 

ALEFORT

Take your last sips of Alefort 2019 12pm-7pm in the Alefort Tent on 11th & Grove! Recovery is the name of the game on Sunday. Ease into the last day of festivities with Alefort’s Sunday Roast. Celebrating brunch with everything from breakfast meat pies to vegan parfaits. Don’t forget the fresh donuts, coffee, coffee-roasted beers, and a hilarious light-hearted roast of Treefort by those giggly guys and gals of Comedyfort.

French & English ciders are widely regarded as the top of the cider category. Come try ciders that come across the ocean into your glass.

 

HACKFORT

Join Nerds to the Rescue and Phoenix Fire Games and play games with your fellow brunchers while munching on a discounted brunch menu and filling your cup at the coffee bar in the lobby at The Owyhee* 10am-12pm.

 

COMEDYFORT

Get the last laugh at Comedyfort 2019‘s Sunday night showcase with headliner Sophie Hughes at 8pm at Liquid Lounge (21+)!

 

BOX OFFICE

Pick up your bright, shiny new accessory 12pm-8pm at Main Stage. Remember to bring your ID and ticket confirmation with you.

 

SECOND CHANCE SHOWS

Bounce back with brunch at Bittercreek Alehouse*! Biscuits + gravy, biscuit sandos, breakfast poutine, breakfast beers and tunes performed by Goldberg and Barr (2/3 of The Pan Handles), Dustin Morris, Lindsey Hunt, and Esmé Patterson…doesn’t get much better than that. Music starts at 10am.

Catch Rosie Tucker andChildspeak at downtown philanthropic sammie spot Even Stevens*! Music starts at noon.

Grab a brew at Boise Brewing* and rock out to The Ophelias for a brunch set at 1pm.

Located in the heart of Treefort, CAMP Modern* (The Modern Hotel) offers eclectic music. Today’s lineup features Lens Mozer, MAITA, Plastic Man, Alex Lilly, and Sunbathe. Music starts at 1pm.

At Radioland Stage*, catch performances from Favx, Booty EP , and Ava Luna starting at 4pm!
